Cookie Preferences

This page lets you review and change the cookie choice you made on autovig.eu. For the full legal framework and the per-cookie inventory, see the Cookie Policy. For how personal data flowing through these trackers is processed, see the Privacy Policy.

1. How to open the preferences dialog

The fastest way to change your choice is the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. It opens the same preferences dialog that the consent banner offers on your first visit through Manage cookies.

2. Defaults

Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are each off until you actively allow that category — either by clicking "Accept all" on the banner (both on), or by ticking the relevant box in this dialog and saving. No consent-required tracker is loaded before that. This default reflects article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, article 10/2 of the Belgian Loi du 30 juillet 2018, the EDPB Guidelines 05/2020 on consent and the CJEU rulings in Planet49 (C-673/17) and Proximus (C-129/21).

3. Equal-prominence rejection

The banner and the dialog present "Accept all" and "Reject all" with the same style, the same size and the same click cost: one action either way. There is no pre-ticked box, no consent wall and no "scroll to consent". The two optional checkboxes sit above them; recording a partial choice requires "Save preferences".

4. What each category controls

• Strictly necessary — always on. Covers the localStorage entries autovig.cookie-consent and autovig.cookie-preferences, which record your choice, and the autovig.preferred-locale entry and autovig_root_locale_routed cookie, which remember your language. They are used without consent under the exemption of article 5(3) ePrivacy and the second subparagraph of article 10/2 of the Belgian Loi du 30 juillet 2018.
• Analytics — when ticked, Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_<container-id>) is loaded. When unticked, that script is not loaded. Default: unticked.
• Session analytics — when ticked, Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, _cltk and the Microsoft cookies listed in the Cookie Policy) is loaded. Clarity records clicks, scrolling and session replays, with form fields masked. When unticked, that script is not loaded. Default: unticked.

There is no marketing category, because the Site uses no advertising or marketing trackers. The categories match the inventory in section 4 of the Cookie Policy one-to-one.

5. Consent state visibility

When you open the dialog after a previous decision, each checkbox shows that decision. You can accept, reject or change either category on a single screen without leaving the page.

6. Where the choice is stored

Your choice is stored locally on this device in two localStorage entries: autovig.cookie-consent ("granted" if either optional category is on, otherwise "denied") and autovig.cookie-preferences (your analytics and session-analytics choices and the version of the Cookie Policy under which you made them). Nothing else is stored there. The entries are not transmitted to our server, are not synced across devices and never leave your browser. Clearing your browser’s site data resets the choice and brings the banner back on your next visit.

7. Why the record exists, and what it does not do

The record lets the Site honour your choice on every page and ask again when the list of consent-required tools changes: the stored version is compared with the current one, and a decision made under an older version counts as no decision. Because the record lives only in your browser, there is no central consent database on our side and we cannot identify you from it. It is therefore not a consent log held by us; it ensures that no consent-required tracker loads without a current choice from you.

8. Withdrawing or changing your choice

Withdrawal is as easy as the original consent (GDPR art. 7(3); EDPB Guidelines 05/2020):

• open this dialog via the footer link, untick the categories you no longer want and click Save preferences, or click Reject all — the corresponding tools stop immediately on the open page and their first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_<container-id>, _clck, _clsk) are deleted; Microsoft’s third-party cookies can only be removed in your browser settings;
• clear your browser’s site data for autovig.eu — the banner reappears on your next visit and analytics stays off until you choose;
• block cookies and/or localStorage in your browser settings — the Site remains readable; the banner reappears on every visit because we cannot remember a "reject" without storing it.

Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Operational and security logs already collected under legitimate interest are retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Accessibility of the preferences dialog

The dialog can be operated with the keyboard, every control has an accessible name, touch targets are at least 44 × 44 CSS pixels on small screens, and the dialog closes with the Esc key and returns focus to the element that opened it. It reflows without horizontal scrolling from a width of 240 CSS pixels and at 200 % text size. Other known limitations are described in the Accessibility Statement.

If you cannot use the dialog with your assistive technology, write to privacy@autovig.eu and we will help. Blocking cookies in your browser settings keeps all analytics off in the meantime.

10. If something is not working — changes — version

If the preferences dialog does not open, the most common cause is a browser extension blocking the consent script. Disable the extension for autovig.eu or use a different browser and try again. If the issue persists, please write to privacy@autovig.eu with the URL, the browser, the operating system and any relevant extensions.

When the dialog or the list of consent-required tools changes, the updatedAt date in the page header is revised and the version stored with your choice changes, so the banner asks for your choice again. See also the Sources listed in the Cookie Policy.
